Collaboration between NECTEC and NICT inspired by ‘Doko-demo-Door’ of DORAEMON

On 11 September 2017, National Electronics and Computer Technology Center (NECTEC) of Thailand, in collaboration with National Institute of Information and Communications Technology (NICT) of Japan, organized the 1st NECTEC-NICT Joint Workshop 2017 at Queen Sirikit National Convention Center (QSNCC). The overall objective of this Workshop are to strengthen a closer relationship and to identify mutual interests between two institutes.

“If you are a big fan of DORAEMON, you’ll know Doko-demo-Door. Doko-demo-Door allows you to go anywhere you want, likewise, the collaboration makes research whatever you think,” said Dr.Fumihiko Tomita, Chief Research & Strategy Officer, Vice President of NICT, during the workshop

The using of international cooperation mechanism is comparable to Doko-demo-Door which unlocks the door to realization of R&D on electronics and computer. • Silicon Photonics
  • Wireless Network
  • Cyber Security
  • Terahertz Technology
  • ICT for Marginalized Area
  • Towards Social Deployment of Advanced ICT
  • Brain-Machine Interfaces / Robotics
  • Neuroimaging Technology

Concurrently, NECTEC organized the NECTEC Annual Conference and Exhibition 2017 (NECTEC-ACE 2017) under the theme “Practical R&D: Innovation Springboard” at QSNCC. Dr.Fumihiko Tomita also delivered a keynote speech during “Smart Technology in Asia for Driving Future Economy” session on the topic of “More Healthy and Sophisticated Smart Systems - Charming ICT for Potential Users” to the public and interested audiences in this event. Seventeen NICT researchers and staffs visited exhibition booths and attended the workshop, the largest NICT delegation official visit to Thailand and NECTEC ever.
