NECTEC joins with KBank and CU to develop Thai NLP program to aid Thai-language interaction with computers

Ms. Kattiya Indaravijaya,3rd from right, KBank President; Professor Bundhit Eua-arporn, Ph.D., 3rd from left, President of Chulalongkorn University (CU); and Dr. Chai Wutiwiwatchai, 2nd from left, Executive Director, National Electronic and Computer Technology Center (NECTEC), together held a press conference on the development of natural language processing technology for the Thai NLP program, which can deal with language used in the banking and business sector.

The program allows computers to understand texts that customers enter into systems, and answer their questions via a chatbot on social media, with accuracy and speed. The AI-based platform will allow the Bank to develop products and services that can effectively serve target groups and thus ensure their optimum satisfaction. It is hoped that the program will serve as a prototype for government agencies and private organizations to be applied for the nation’s benefit.

The event was held recently at KBank Siam Pic-Ganesha Center of Performing Arts.
