About Us

Nanoelectronics and MEMS Laboratory
Nanoelectronics and MEMS Laboratory was established under the National Electronics  and Computer Technology Center (NECTEC). The main objectives are to induce dynamics  in R&D and applications of Micro-Electro- Mechanical Systems (MEMS) including  nanotechnology in order to support technology development and adoption in electronics  such as  nanosensor, Lab-on-a-chip, microfabrication, and MEMS devices. This is  achieved through establishing    research programs, which include funding and program  management, as well as establishing central research laboratory in collaboration with  universities and other government agencies.

Mission
To research and develop Micro-Electro-Mechanical Systems (MEMS) and    nanoelectronics technology by  focusing on innovative  research and being a central laboratory also providing both domestic and international linkage between research communities, academic organizations, and industries through the established clusters. To transfer  technology acquiring from research and development through academic communities and industries To coordinate and  facilitate strategic collaboration and linkage between various research units, educational institutions, industrial sector  and related international institutions. To create human resource in related field by co-advising  Master and Ph.D. student with local universities and being the central point of learning and training    in MEMS. To plan and execute the national technology roadmap (TRM) of MEMS and nanoe! lectroni cs.

Strategy
To be a domestic core center for designing and fabricating nanoelectronics and MEMS devices to leverage the  competitiveness of nation. To support and cluster-based fund the MEMS and nanoelectronics research collaboration within Thailand . To incubate the collaboration among universities, research lab and private sector to achieve the MEMS commercial product in market.

R&D Strategic Direction
To be a design center and open laboratory for i) microfabrication and post-processing step eg. Basic photolithography, etching, and packaging ii) Test and characterization eg. Micro system analyzer. To be a coordinator of R&D cluster or program on MEMS and    nanoelectronics research eg. Smart and wireless microsensor network, Lab-on-a-chip, portable electronic nose.
