Strategic Analytics Networks with Machine Learning and AI Research Team (SAI) is a part of Data Science and Analytics Research Unit (DSARU). Data has increasingly become even more important in different socio-economic dimensions including people’s daily life as well as government’s policy making. However, enormous challenges remain which hinder full utilization for the benefit of the public. These challenges include lacking experienced personals, data not in ready-to-use format, and lacking the understanding of target users etc.
The SAI research team has the mission to connect and deliver data to directly benefit the public through government and private agencies and also to support the private economy for long-term sustainability. The SAI research team focuses on excellence in four areas.
- Data Engineering & Data Integration: transforming raw data into usable formats to enhance the efficient utilization of the data
- Data Visualization: storytelling, presenting and reporting the data for practical purposes
- Data Analytics: analyzing data for the purpose of creating knowledge and finding insights for real-world applications by incorporating applied artificial intelligence as well as other suitable technologies
- Cognitive Science: thinking, reasoning and acquiring knowledge by incorporating Data Science, Data Analytics, Data Visualization and Human-Computer Interaction to enhance the interactions between users, data, models and computers to create valuable innovations and prevent misunderstandings.
